OPPORTUNITIES FOR VENDORS AT OUR FIRST VIRTUAL EXHIBIT HALL!

Critical to the success of our educational programming is the role vendors play at our conferences. Exhibiting and sponsoring is a terrific way to educate and promote your products and services and support exceptional education and outreach to Oregon and Washington hospice and palliative care providers. Please see our menu of vendor opportunities in our Virtual Exhibit Hall below.

about the program

This jointly-supported regulatory-focused webinar attracts hospice and palliative care administrators and managers, those with regulatory and quality improvement responsibilities, physicians, billing specialists and other staff with an interest in regulatory issues. Our webinar platform allows up to 2,000 participants; information about this complimentary program for members has already been distributed to over 500 hospice and palliative care professionals in Oregon and Washington.

During this extraordinary year of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospice providers continue to overcome many challenges as they provide care to terminally-ill patients and their families. CMS provided several waivers which eased some of the regulatory burdens hospices faced. However, there are more regulatory burdens to overcome in the future! On July 31, CMS issued the FY2021 Wage Index Final Rule, which answered “the big question” being asked by all who work in hospice: Will the October 1 implementation of the election statement and addendum requirements be delayed? The CMS answer was “No.” There will be no delay in the October 1 implementation date for hospices to modify the election statements they use and to provide, upon request, the election statement addendum form which must list those items, services, and drugs the hospice has determined to be unrelated to the terminal illness and related conditions. The CMS stated goal for requiring hospices to use this new form is to increase coverage transparency for beneficiaries under a hospice election. To meet this new requirement, hospices will need to operationalize how they will provide a written list and a rationale for the conditions, items, drugs, or services that the hospice has determined to be unrelated to the terminal illness and related conditions. Please join us as we invite Judi Lund Person, NHPCO Vice President, Regulatory and Compliance to share her perspectives about this extraordinary year and her insights about how hospices can meet this new regulatory challenge!
