A message from Deborah Jaques, CEO, Oregon Hospice Association, 6/12/14
Being forwarded by Jonathan Keyserling, JD, Senior Vice President and Counsel – Office of Health Policy at National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and Executive Director, NHPCO Hospice Action Network…
As either a Board (NHPCO/HAN) or Committee (Public Policy/Regulatory) member, we wanted to share with you the latest letter to Administrator Tavenner that focuses on the ongoing problems with implementation of the CMS guidance on Part D and hospice.
While NHPCO did not spearhead this letter (for strategic reasons), we were certainly strongly supportive of the effort and messages.
We wanted you to see the letter, and the breath of the 27 organizations, all voicing a united message around this issue.
You can be assured that similar messaging will be echoed next week when our Advocacy Intensive takes places on Monday/Tuesday and during our ongoing conversations with policymakers.
Also, NHPCO will be circulating a Part D specific survey, a little later today, and we encourage you to report back your experiences with the new Part D implementation process.
